Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical science lessons, including chemicals, specimens, and apparatus.
- Assist teaching staff during laboratory sessions, offering technical support and ensuring health and safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is clean, functional, and available for use.
- Safely dispose of hazardous materials and manage chemical inventories in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Organise and store laboratory supplies, maintaining an accurate inventory and ordering new materials as needed.
- Support the development and implementation of new experiments and practical activities.
- Provide guidance and support to students during practical sessions, fostering a safe and engaging learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a similar technical role within an educational setting.
- A strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to laboratory work.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
