What's in it for you?

  • Work hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm or 8.30am to 5pm with a 1-hour lunch
  • Salary: £23,000 to £30,000, depending on experience
  • 20 days, plus Bank holidays, rising to 25 days after 5 years' service

Export Clerk Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with the sales team to successfully confirm export sales and invoices and process incoming purchase orders
  • Collate all relevant information and prepare all export documentation in line with legislation and shipping terms
  • Issue export bills of lading, freight invoices, ship manifests and information security, as appropriate
  • Identify the best delivery methods by liaising with shipping lines, hauliers, freight forwarders and couriers and successfully arrange delivery of goods
  • Use Sage to create quotations, raise debit and credit notes, and produce accurate invoices
  • Liaise with the production team to chase orders
  • Positively handle customer queries over the phone and via email and handle customer complaints
  • Maintain an accurate CRM system, updating it with relevant and accurate customer and order information
  • Assist the sales team, as and when needed, which will involve sending out samples and brochures, and identifying further opportunities through your communication with customers

Export Clerk Skills and Experience:

  • This client is open in terms of level of experience, so we would consider a candidate with a wealth of export knowledge or someone with office-based experience looking to make the move into the export industry
  • Strong administration skills with keen attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Excellent organisation skills, able to remain calm under pressure, work to deadlines, and juggle multiple projects
  • Skilled communicator, confident liaising across departments and with customers
  • Ambitious and able to work on own initiative
