Pay rate: £32 per hour

Our client is looking for experience Social Workers to join the Adult Services team. All candidates must have previous experience in working in Adult Social Care and have a good understanding and be able to apply appropriate legislation. Knowledge is required of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Human Rights Act, Mental Health Act, etc. You will be responsible for screening incoming safeguarding referrals as well as case holding complex cases.

In this role you will need to ensure that the requirements of the MCA 2005 are met and that the service users rights under the ECHR (human rights Act 1998) are upheld. You will complete Mental Capacity and /or Best Interest Assessments, eligibility assessments and relevant documents for the community DOL. Although some of the role is working from home you will need to go to see service users in the community in order to assess them. Our client is looking for a person with an excellent understanding of the community DOL assessments. In return our client will provide an excellent training to extend your knowledge in order to equip this person with the understanding around the eligibility assessment. Ideally you will generate enough output to achieve one eligibility assessment and two DOL assessments a week.

Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, informed by the values and principles of social care; you will be supporting in the delivery of person centred, safe and effective social care services.   • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experienced in working with children and families including those from vulnerable groups.
  • Creative, flexible and forward thinking in approach.
  • Knowledgeable of relevant legislation and understanding of child protection issues.
  • Constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for Adults.
  • Able to use excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
  • Highly skilled at building meaningful relationships with clients to engage them in assessments and plans
  • Committed to providing our service users with a high-quality service
  • Experienced in working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency basis
  • 2 Years plus Qualified

In this role you will:

  • Use skills, knowledge, and experience to make full assessment of risks protection and social care needs.
  • Manage an agreed case load.
  • Use specialist communication skills to achieve optimum outcomes for service users.
  • Devise individual care plans, taking account of diversity and promoting dignity and empowerment.
  • Offer advice and support to unqualified staff and students to assist development.
