Accounts Payable Team Leader

Accounts Payable Team Leader | Leicester | 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract | Up To £45,000

Macildowie are excited to be collaborating with an esteemed business based in Leicester on the search for an experienced Accounts Payable Team leader for 6 months interim cover with a possible extension.

Contract: 6-12 Month FTC / Temporary

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing one direct report - Purchase Ledger Admin
  • Managing and developing the Accounts Payable function.
  • Ensuring all invoices are matched through a Purchase Orders process.
  • Reviewing and authorising all invoices, which do not match to a Purchase Order.
  • All invoices are posted and paid correctly and to company agreed terms
  • All supplier statements are reconciled regularly (1-3 months depending on value).
  • All Direct Debit Payments are posted and reconciled/matched to invoices.
  • Overseeing cash ledger processing and reviewing unreconciled payments
  • Identifying weaknesses and further developing and documenting accounts payables processes to ensure that all data is input correctly onto the ledger and fulfils audit requirements for sign off and back up evidence
  • Liaise with the Operational departments to Resolve supplier disputes and ensure prompt resolution
  • Working with the wider business management to improve and enforce the company purchase order processes
  • Support month end reporting activities
  • Work with external software providers to ensure that the finance system (IFS) is set up to efficiently support the accounts payables processes.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years Accounts Payable Experience including supervising a team and Accounts Payable function
  • Organised and methodical in your approach to work and able to prioritise work appropriately
  • A genuine team player appreciating the importance of team goals
  • A proven focus on improving effectiveness and efficiency of processes
  • The ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and meet critical deadlines
  • The ability to build strong relationships with the key stakeholders and work collaboratively across the business
  • The successful candidate will be hands-on and unphased by working in a fast-paced environment.
  • You will have the scope to improve business processes and be innovative and forward thinking in your approach
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate accounts payables principles into plain language for the wider business.
  • Good planning and organisational skills
