Senior Project Manager

Randstad are recruiting for a Senior Project Manager for a client based in Clevedon. They are a global company that specialise in manufacturing special purpose machinery and are growing this year.

Reporting to the Senior Programme Manager, be accountable for the delivery of a large sized project; or be accountable for the delivery of multiple medium sized projects; or be accountable for the delivery of multiple subsystems/ technologies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan: Act as the single point of contact responsible for project schedule, cost, risks, and scope; generate a suitable Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) that enables level 0, 1, 2 and 3 plans to be developed; track progress and provide updates to the programme team and key stakeholders as required.
  • Budget: Own the Projects budget, monitoring the expenditures and costs throughout the project.
  • Responsibility Matrix: Ensure a suitable responsibility matrix (RACI) has been generated for each project.
  • Risk, Actions, Issues and Decisions: Develop a RAID log for the project detailing key risks, actions, issues, and decisions. For all risks ensure a suitable mitigation is in place, developing contingency plans, or adjusting project scope, resources, or the timelines as needed.
  • Reporting: Translate Project status, risks, opportunities, and issues into reliable, consistent, and regular reporting.
  • Stakeholder Management: Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver end-to-end project milestones and goals.
  • Stakeholder Management: Negotiate with and/or influence senior management to resolve program or project level challenges.
  • Change Management: Manage project scope and deliverables through a structured change management process to ensure customer expectations are met.

Experience & Skills

Qualifications/Education/Certifications:

  • Have a recognised Project or Programme Management Qualification e.g. APM PMQ, Prince2, or equivalent experience
  • Educated to Degree level in a suitable Technical/Engineering/Science discipline

Experience:

  • Have significant experience of managing complex technical programmes or projects spanning multiple phases/years to time, spec, and cost; have experience in managing projects with software content
  • Must have demonstrated experience of influencing and managing across global teams
  • Demonstrated achievements in continuous improvement to systems, processes, or tools
  • Previous line management or functional management or coaching experience

Skills:

  • Must have excellent influencing and negotiation skills at multiple organisational levels
  • Must be able to analyse complex programme requirements and generate a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) as part of high-level programme definition
  • Experience of project planning tools (such as Microsoft Project), processes and methodologies
  • Experience of RAID logs (Risk, Actions, Issues and Decisions)

This is a full time permanent position with a salary bracket of £50,000-£58,000 + a 7.5% annual bonus and over benefits. The role also comes with the option for hybrid working.
