Building Surveyor (x2)

Location: Sevenoaks or London (with project site visits required)

Are you seeking the opportunity to advance your career with a leading consultancy in the property and construction industry? We are a well-established, multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy group, currently looking for a dedicated Building Surveyor to join our team in either Sevenoaks or London.

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting building surveys on high-rise residential properties, performing desktop analysis, gap analysis, and working closely with Fire Engineers on structural appraisals. You will also contribute to the production of Building Safety Case reports, ensuring compliance with the latest regulations.

Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of Post-Qualified Experience (PQE).
  • Proven expertise in building surveys, particularly for high-rise residential properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with colleagues and key stakeholders, including Clients, Residents, Contractors, Developers, and Clerks of Works.
  • Gain and apply a deep understanding of the Building Safety Act, working closely with internal and external project teams.
  • Undertake diagnostic work, building pathology, and reporting for residential, education, and healthcare buildings.
  • Ensure clients receive timely and accurate information by identifying and delivering key project outputs.
  • Support the preparation of building safety case reports, compliance trackers, and audit logs, utilising appropriate software (training will be provided).
  • Assist in delivering building safety case work, working closely with Fire Engineers and the Delivery Director.

Main Duties:

  • Contribute to the preparation of building safety case reports.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met.
  • Conduct site visits in London and surrounding areas (a valid UK driving licence is required).
  • Develop and apply knowledge in contract administration, report writing, and Employer's Agent duties for high-rise remediation projects.
  • Actively engage in the tender and procurement process for key consultants and contractors.

Skills & Development:

  • Strong understanding of the Building Safety Act and the ability to support project delivery in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in preparing safety cases and managing audit and compliance trackers.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, residents, and project teams.
  • Ability to take accurate minutes in meetings and support administrative project processes.
  • Willingness to work towards or recently achieved a relevant professional qualification (support provided).
