Compliance Manager

The opportunity:

Reporting to the Global Head of Regulatory Compliance, your overall responsibility will be to provide sound compliance advice and guidance to business stakeholders across the UK & EMEA and to work diligently and methodically to identify areas of opportunity through a thorough analysis of impact, criticality and remedial options. This is a challenging role for an individual experienced in the delivery of compliance requirements within a fast-paced insurance services commercial environment.

The role:

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with all business units and companies within the UK and EMEA region to ensure that an effective compliance culture is in place.
  • Development and enhancement of compliance processes in accordance with market practice to meet regulatory expectations.
  • Initiation and monitoring of appropriate systems and controls to ensure that the Company meets its regulatory requirements.
  • Identifying new compliance requirements and upcoming regulatory changes.
  • Leading the development, implementation, maintenance and review of compliance policies and procedures in the UK and EMEA region.
  • Assisting the Legal and Global Compliance teams with the annual Global policy review.
  • Assisting the Global Compliance, Legal and RIT Security teams with Due Diligence Reviews, audits and the completion of RFP's/RFI's for all business lines.
  • Internal governance and audit of regulatory requirements - e.g. Consumer Duty
  • Organising and attending regulatory meetings.
  • Assist in annual review of processor and controller spreadsheets.
  • Tracking and monitoring the completion of internal compliance training programme.
  • Responsible for Health & Safety - including reviewing policies and procedures and ensuring compliance across the region.
  • Annual review and update of the BCP and the BIA.
  • Management of modern slavery compliance activities.
  • Attending quarterly compliance and Health & Safety meetings.
  • Assisting with sanction checking.

About you - Knowledge and Experience:

Successful candidates will have a background working in a fast-paced insurance environment and will have deep and proven experience of delivering in a regional internal compliance role. Good knowledge of FCA Rules and Regulations is essential. You will have a proactive and flexible approach and will be able to manage multiple priorities and conflicting demands, with the ability to quickly evaluate and determine priorities and escalations.

You will be accustomed to championing a compliance culture and will have excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills. The Ability to innovate and improve processes to drive efficiencies is critical together with a forward-thinking strategic mindset.
