Service Manager - Role Overview:

The Successful Service Manager will oversee the current team of service engineers and manage the scheduling of maintenance and repairs.

You will also be responsible for managing the spare parts side of the business in the UK and growing the service contract side of the business by selling these to customers.

Service Manager - Role Responsibilities:

Managing H&S for all engineers.

Organising engineers daily work load providing support along with additional knowledge where possible and understanding to try hit a work life balance.

Liaising with the PMO function for up and coming installations

Liaising with Sales on trials and R&D work in need of completion.

Visits to clients to help cement relationships, gaining further opportunities to service their supplied equipment.

Taking Customer calls, "in and out of hours" and dispatching engineering support required, clear communication to spares department to dispatch the required parts.

Provide technical cover when Tech Manager is not available or something that can be dealt with in your own scope of skills.

Advise to spares on queries.

Assisting on spares requirements for breakdowns and maintenance.

Keeping engineers up to "standards" including general training and further training on specialised equipment.

Assisting / quoting for engineering time on site including installation times and servicing times.

Prompting Sales of potential sales leads.

Service Manager - Candidate Requirements:

Experience as a Service Manager or a Service Engineer.

Experience of service engineering and maintenance within the food industry would be a huge advantage.

Commercial aptitude - knowledge of service contracts and the ability to sell them to customers.

Experience of spare parts management.
