About the Role
Hampshire County Council require a Catering Supervisor to join them at River Hamble Country Park. River Hamble Country Park has a history that reaches far back through the centuries, with its location on the River Hamble providing access for many as a key piece of Hampshire's countryside.
What is the day-to-day of the role:
- To supervise delivery of the catering services at Queen Elizabeth Country Park.
- To prepare and serve food and drink items in line with specifications, ensuring that every customer receives the highest levels of customer service and product on visiting the park.
- Guarantees that all aspects of food and drink preparation is carried out in accordance with the Countryside Food Safety Management System.
- To deputise in the absence of the Catering Manager.
People Management
- Monitoring team performance through intervening, giving feedback, and providing constructive criticism when behaviour, attitude, presentation, or execution fail to meet the standards required of a Countryside Service employee.
- Being responsible for the welfare of the team, guests, and business when on shift.
- Supporting the Catering Manager in their role as well as supporting the Catering Supervisor and Catering Assistants in their roles. Catering Manager Catering / Chef Supervisor Catering Assistant Park Manager
- Instilling and reinforcing positive behaviours in the team through leading by example.
- When applicable delegate tasks to the team to help with the smooth running and upkeep of the business.
- Ensure that staffing levels are adequate for any given shifts.
- Manage and record staff absence and sickness through the appropriate channels.
- Ensure staff breaks are scheduled and organised in such a way that the needs of the business and guest are uncompromised.
- Providing the team with soft skills training and coaching whilst on shift
Quality Standards and Customer Service
- Guaranteeing that every customer receives the highest levels of customer service and product on visiting Beechwood Kitchen.
- Ensure point of sale, signs, and displays look sharp, professional and are in line with Countryside Service branding and Catering Development standards.
- Respond to customer complaints in a timely manner offering a resolution that satisfies the customer.
- Ensuring that all communication with the team and guests is professional and conducive to creating a happy, safe, and efficient environment.
