  • Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday

My client are looking for a dedicated Project Manager to join their growing Programme Office within Children's Services. This role is pivotal in managing, driving, and supporting the delivery of our transformational programme. The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people across Barnsley and will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects within Education, Early Start, Prevention service areas, and Children's Social Care.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Lead and drive both small and large projects across the Children's Services Development Plan.
  • Support and mentor staff, allocating work where necessary.
  • Utilise project management skills to support and challenge progress effectively, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality, inclusive, and collaborative projects.
  • Prioritise workload effectively, report to key Workstreams and other meetings.
  • Build effective working relationships with managers, internal colleagues, and partners.
  • Engage directly with service users, focusing on the care, welfare, or wellbeing of people.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in project management within a large organisation, preferably in social care, health, or related fields.
  • Experience in managing large complex change projects.
  • Advisor to managers at all levels, external agencies, and forums.
  • Strong background in continuous service improvement.
  • Policy and procedure formulation and implementation experience.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Knowledge of local and national strategies, policies, and legislation relevant to the area of work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to adapt to changing demands.
