This is a continuously expanding niche SME organisation who has gained new business and contracts.Currently this SME is at circa 200 staff, with more planned.

Your new role

Reporting to the Business Director (HR background), you will manage the HR team (5 staff) and the function - working in both a strategic and senior generalist operational HR role. This exciting role will be part of the Senior Management Team alongside other Heads of Department - who then report to the Leadership Team.

You will be responsible for the provision of high-quality and client-driven HR service, as well as moregeneral business services (i.e. training, GDPR and document control), to support the business, whilst ensuring compliance. Working cross functionally with the Senior Management Team & Leadership Team, colleagues and the wider business to ascertain their needs and define the appropriate strategy for delivering the service offering and associated service levels.

The business is currently moving towards a culture of Continuous Improvement, empowerment to make change at a local level and establishing repeatable scalable business operations. The HR team plays a large part in this process by ensuring that not only are the fundamental processes simple and clear but the process for the cultural change includes the provision of practical training, guidance and coaching of all managers within the business creating an environment where management of performance leads to a High-Performance.

Therefore you will be responsible for the delivery, management, and continuous improvement of a wide range of vital HR activities for the business, ensuring they are cost efficient, effective and make the best use of available services.

You will be responsible for and also lead on continuous improvement projects around Policies & Procedures, Processes, Systems, Trade Unions, OD, L&D, Compensation & Benefits and Recruitment.

This role covers 3 sites (2 in Lincolnshire and 1 in Wales). Mainly based at HQ near Sleaford, but some expectation to travel to Wales once a month (3 days away, 2 nights) and some trips away for training and seminars etc.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Ideally you will be minimum CIPD Level 5 Qualified and Master's Degree / Level 7 (or working towards this), with a coaching qualification - or demonstratable equivalent level experience.

  • Held a Senior HR Manager / Business Partner level role or be a current Head of HR - both strategically and operationally as part of a SMT.

  • Have experience of working with senior / managers to offer a partnering provision.

  • Senior HR skills:

  • Trade Union and Employee Relations experience.

  • Change management/OD experience.

  • TUPE.

  • Workforce and succession planning.

  • Senior Operational HR provision experience.

  • HR systems.

  • HR projects.

  • Be a skilled communicator with the ability to influence, motivate and enable collaborative working.

  • Proven record of leading, delivering and embedding new innovative practices and a continuous improvement culture.

What you'll get in return

  • Competitive salary - £60000 to £70000 - DOE and qualifications,
  • The role is working 40 hours a week - but flexibility between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday is on offer.
  • Ideally you will work in the office a minimum of 3 days a week and the rest can be flexible - from home or office - as you prefer.
  • Hybrid working - the role will be covering 3 sites in the UK - mainly based in Lincolnshire but there is some expectation to travel further with overnight stays.
