Senior Internal Communications and Change Officer

Greater London Authority, one of our largest public sector clients based in London are looking to recruit a Senior Internal Communications and Change Officer to join their team on a 4-month contract. The role is full time, Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week with hybrid work arrangements available, 2 days from office and 3 from home. Their office is based near Canning Town on Jubilee or Royal Victoria on the DLR.

Pay rate: £30.85 per hour PAYE or £39.53 per hour Umbrella

Purpose of the role:

  • Deliver change and internal communications strategies – to support specific change programmes (ITSS and SAP SF).
  • Design and implement clear, measurable internal communications and engagement activity for specific change programmes and projects – including IT Shared Service, Office 365 implementation and other digital projects.
  • Plan, write and edit engaging, consistent and accurate content
  • Translate complex information into easy-to-understand messages.
  • Proactively build positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Advise and implement specific comms and engagement interventions to support the rollout and adoption of new IT systems and ways of working.
  • Engage stakeholders across TfL, GLA, MOPAC and OPDC.
  • Develop specific comms and engagement products and materials, ranging from articles to comms plans, to support the programme – measuring success and adoption – and adapting as necessary.
  • Deputise as needed for the Change Comms Manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and delivering effective internal communications and engagement plans.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Skilled in translating complex information into understandable content.
  • Proven ability to build positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience in organising large-scale events, including logistics and content.
  • Knowledge of intranet best practices and content management systems.
  • Proficient in collaboration tools and project management software (e.g., SharePoint, Teams Live, Drupal).
