We are seeking a Registered Manager for a children's home, offering a rewarding opportunity to lead a dedicated team in providing high-quality care and support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leadership and management within the care sector, specifically working with children and young people.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Oversee the daily operations of the children's home, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Lead and manage a team of care professionals, providing supervision, guidance, and support.
- Develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of the children and young people in the home.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing environment that promotes the welfare and development of the residents.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, staff, families, and external agencies.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care delivery and implement continuous improvement strategies.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring the home operates within financial targets.
- Prepare for and participate in inspections by regulatory bodies, taking responsibility for achieving and maintaining high standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Must hold a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce (CYPW) or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in a managerial role within a children's residential care setting.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent understanding of the needs of children and young people in care.
- Knowledge of current legislation and regulatory requirements pertaining to children's homes.
- Ability to work flexibly and respond to the changing needs of the service.
