About The Role
Introduction and overall purpose of the role

OCS is now looking for an experienced Contract Director, preferably with a background in the Education environment to see this contract into a new and exciting phase. Driving forward financial performance whilst delivering OCS values to the forefront.

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role

  • To undertake the role of Account Director of Soft Services for the allocated sites and ensure that the site staff are carrying out their duties effectively and efficiently, in accordance to Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Contribute to the growth of all services in order to meet client and commercial expectations whilst maintaining strict budgetary control within operational business area in line with our client and OCS's expectations
  • Implement Company, Segment and Contract strategy as directed
  • To be an ambassador to OCS Values and support the cultural development in line with OCS value..
  • To oversee and implement the NEC4 contract terms and specifications of as described in the contract by UAL.
  • To effectively manage the contract ensuring all soft FM services are deliver the agreed services within budget restraints and to the standard required.
  • To act as the local contact with the University, its associated colleges and their colleagues, Hard FM as key partner for the Hard FM service and OCS Subcontractors.
  • To take responsibility for the co-ordination of all services, making sure the soft FM services are meeting the contract requirements. Manage resources to optimise our profit levels and reduce operating costs.
  • Liaise and influence UAL and its operational management team both formally and informally, via meetings, correspondence, and reports in a professional manner.
  • Identify and manage potential risk and opportunities..
  • Manage and monitor site activities in relation to health and safety standards ensuring site safety, quality, and environmental responsibilities.
  • Deliver site reporting requirements, produce accurate and punctual monthly internal and external reports advising on financial and operational status of the contract, together with quality, health, safety, and human resources issues.
  • Oversee and manage the multi-line accounts in partnership with your financial business partner, reviewing debt collection, long range forecast and delivery of EBITDA targets

Educational Level

  • Highly literate and numerate (essential)
  • Commitment to manage through data interpretation rather than just through intuition
  • Educated to degree level (desirable) Professional Qualifications required for the job-(particularly for compliance purposes or technical requirements of the role)
  • Hold IOSH or NEBOSH
  • Membership of a professional industry body - IWFM Experience -previous experience -desirable/essential for technical competence of the role
  • Multi-site experience, covering sites over a broad geographic area
  • Leadership skills and knowledge - proven track record of leading, managing and developing a team
  • People management skills including general HR skills in recruitment, training and managing employee performance including disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  • Analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions
  • Proven experience of managing long-term client relationships
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • A good general education with a relevant qualification aligned to Facilities Management, and a demonstrable record of continuous personal development within the industry. ( Essential)

  • Experience in managing budgets and P&L accountability
  • Experience of delivering Soft FM Services into Commercial Properties
  • Proven experience of Facilities Management in a complex environment, with demonstrable success in a similar service environment and capable of delivering contractual compliance in line with contract requirements.
  • Proven experience of establishing stakeholder relationships and achieving sustained operational success.
  • Proven track record of delivering effective customer service and operational excellence whilst maintaining targetted operating margins in a Educational environment.
