Risk & Compliance Lead

Morson Talent are delighted to be working with our client in the FinTech sector who are looking to recruit an experienced Risk & Compliance Lead. The purpose of the role will be to implement and enforce the companies data privacy and compliance strategy in the most efficient and effective approach. Working as a Compliance Lead you will take charge of curating policies and strategies and effectually transfer this knowledge to the wider business. The role involves high proficiency in some soft skills such as communication, organisational abilities, and strong interpersonal skills, as it involves liaising with different stakeholders, internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all business and data management processes reflect privacy requirements and comply with laws and regulations.
  • Accountability for ownership, oversight & run of business risk and flex to meet the orgainsations strategic ambitions
  • Supervise all the business processes that involve compliance and regulations
  • Identify, assess and mitigate risks that could impede the achievement of the organisations strategic and operational objectives.
  • Ensure the implementation of risk management policies and procedures to minimise financial, operational and reputational risks.
  • Prepare and present regular reports and documentation on risk and compliance to senior management.
  • Monitor and conduct (as appropriate) regular training programs, to educate employees about risk management and compliance policies and procedures.
  • Carry out investigations to find gaps in the current strategies, which involve compliance and rectify them as per the regulatory guidelines.

Experience & Skills:

  • At least 5 years professional experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit or a related field.
  • Experience in FinTech, Payments, Banking or Financial Services with an undersanding of both operational, technology and programme risks
  • Bachelor's degree in law, business administration, compliance, risk management or a similar discipline
  • Prior experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit or a related field (particularly with Data Protection)
  • Proficiency in data protection laws, and regulations
  • Outstanding analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Strategic focus, think big whilst managing detail
