Our high-profile Housing Association client is looking for an Area Housing Manager to lead, develop, and supervise an operational area team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an excellent leaseholders and improving the quality of life for all service users.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Lead and motivate an area team to deliver customer-focused services and drive improved standards of tenant and estate services.
  • Manage the performance and conduct of the area team to ensure targets and objectives are met.
  • Provide regular feedback, coaching, support, and training to staff.
  • Attend meetings and training events to contribute to the effective running of the service.
  • Proactively identify risks and adhere to safeguarding processes and procedures.
  • Support the management team in developing and implementing service improvements.
  • Manage and monitor area budgets, ensuring value for money and environmental improvements.
  • Address ASB, harassment, and criminality with proactive and successful resolution strategies.
  • Investigate, resolve, and respond to customer or service complaints within set timescales.
  • Develop and deliver the Tenancy & Estate Management Team Plan.
  • Respond to emergency incidents as required, which may include on-site attendance.
  • Encourage tenant and leaseholder empowerment and involvement.
  • Promote community cohesion and represent the service at various forums and community events.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports at meetings.
  • Ensure legal, statutory, and other relevant provisions are observed.
  • Develop, review, and update operational procedures to enhance service efficiency.
  • Provide operational support to the City Housing Manager as needed.
  • Uphold the organisation's mission, vision, values, and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion strategy.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in housing management or a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and demonstrate financial acumen.
  • Knowledge of housing legislation and regulations.
  • Experience in handling ASB and related issues.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies.
  • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and community cohesion.
  • NEC / Northgate experience
  • A qualification in housing preferable
