Laboratory Assistant
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (40 hours per week); Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm
Location: Waltham Abbey, EN9 3BZ
Salary: £23,915.01 per annum
SUMMARY
To provide support to the laboratory.
No previous laboratory experience is required but would be desirable.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
- Sharp mental awareness and attention to detail.
- Good typing skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and in writing.
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word etc).
- Pro-active and takes ownership.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adherence to Standard Operating and Technical procedures.
- Sample Submission – unpacking, logging, and tracking.
- Use of LIMS.
- Sentinel monitoring and upload.
- MRO requests and reporting.
- Referral logging and coordination.
- Filing of samples and management of sample storage.
- Other administrative duties as and when required.
- Raising non-conformances, planned deviations, changes, risks and improvements as required.
- To assist with audits as required.
- To participate in annual Appraisal.
- To perform scanning and filing of sensitive customer request forms.
- To participate in any relevant training as required.
- To adhere to Health and Safety procedures to ensure safety of all staff.
- To adhere to company policies and business systems manuals.
- Adhere to ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 requirements in testing and quality control procedures.
- To ensure commitment to impartiality and confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility of information.
- Adhering to all policy, procedure, regulatory, customer and standard requirements relating to quality, information security and environmental management systems.
- Any other duties deemed relevant from time to time.
