Our client, a leading and innovative community healthcare services provider, is seeking an experienced Dermatology Consultant to join their team in Swindon.

This organisation provides seamless Dermatology services to patients referred from GP practices and NHS Trusts, ensuring excellence in both primary and secondary care delivery.

Role: Dermatology Consultant

Location: Swindon
Days Available: Monday to Friday
Working Hours: 09:00 - 18:00 (or similar)
Rate: Market- Related

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical care to adult patients attending the community Dermatology service, handling both initial consultations and follow-ups.
  • Diagnose and treat a range of dermatological conditions, including non-two-week wait lesions, acne, psoriasis, and eczema.
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations, order necessary diagnostic tests, and interpret results to form comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Offer specialist advice on medications, therapies, and interventions to alleviate symptoms and promote long-term recovery.
  • Perform or oversee minor dermatological procedures, such as cryotherapy and intralesional steroid injections.
  • Educate patients and families on skin health, preventative care, and lifestyle adjustments that promote optimal outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including GPs and minor surgery clinicians, to provide coordinated and holistic patient care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to the development of treatment strategies and the evaluation of patient outcomes.
  • Actively engage in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

Candidate Requirements (Medical and Nursing):

  • Medical Degree: MBBS/MBChB (or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
  • GMC Registration: Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Dermatology Specialisation: CCT or equivalent qualification in Dermatology.
  • Extensive Experience: Proven track record in diagnosing and treating a wide range of dermatological conditions within a clinical setting.
  • Up-to-date Knowledge: In-depth understanding of current dermatological treatments and best practice guidelines.
  • Professional Development: Commitment to continuous professional development and keeping up with advancements in Dermatology.
  • Training Compliance: Fully compliant with all mandatory training.
