They are now looking for a highly skilled and experienced Renewable Energy Technical Manager to join the team and lead on a variety of agricultural, commercial and residential electrical projects, consisting primarily of solar but to include other renewable energy technologies. This role is on a permanent, full-time basis based in their head office in Gloucester
As a Renewable Energy Technical Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing renewable energy installations, maintenance, and repair work, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and safety standards, and you will be the go-to person for all technical questions from the team.
The Role:
- As a Qualified Supervisor you will process and manage all types of electrical certification, including Minor Works Certificates, Electrical Installation Certificates, including the production of Part P certificates where required and EICR certificates for solar installations and insurance works. Ensuring all certifications comply with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Oversee and verify the quality of electrical installations and services by auditing, inspecting, testing, and certifying electrical systems ensuring compliance with, MCS, NICEIC and current IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) standards.
- Oversee and carry out electrical installations, fault finds, remedials and maintenance work in agricultural, commercial and residential settings ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
- As an MCS notified technical person you will be responsible for all technical operations associated with the MCS Contractor's design and/or installation of a given technology.
- As an MCS Nominee you will have overall responsibility for ensuring the MCS Contractor is compliant with MCS requirements (technical and non-technical) and act as the primary point of contact between the MCS Contractor and Certification Body.
- You will be the go-to person for any technical queries raised by the team, ensuring systems are correctly designed and specified for the requirements of the customer.
- Manage, develop and provide technical support and guidance to our installation and administration teams, offering mentoring where required.
- Support and train sales teams on technical requirements of renewable energy installations.
- Attend site surveys as required for complex installations.
- You will report to the senior management team and provide support to the wider business as required.
- Attend internal and external meetings as required.
- Perform duty manager role as part of a rota.
- Cover absence in all areas as required.
- Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, manufacturers, contractors, stakeholders, and team members.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory requirements in both traditional electrical and renewable energy sectors to ensure compliance and optimal solutions are provided.
- Complete necessary paperwork and maintain accurate records of all work carried out.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
The Benefits:
- Salary of £45,000 to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About You
To be considered as a Renewable Energy Technical Manager, you will need:
- A Level 3 qualification such as NVQ, EAL, C&G or equivalent.
- An 18th Edition qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a qualified electrician.
- Proven experience of exceptional fault finding and troubleshooting skills across both traditional electrical and solar PV.
- Proven experience in a senior or supervisory electrician role (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of UK electrical regulations and standards.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and regulations, as well as solar PV technologies and installations.
- Ability to work independently and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
- A full, valid driving licence.
Please note, this role will require a basic DBS check.
You will be required to work one weekend in four, for which you will receive extra payments.
