Job Title: Accounts Assistant (Permanent)
Location: Ashampstead - Salary - up to £32,000
I am currently supporting a growing organisation renowned for their high quality products. In order to support the growth of the business and continued success, they are looking to strengthen their accounting team with the addition of an experienced Accounts Assistant.
As an Accounts Assistant will be responsible for various tasks, mainly focusing on credit control & maintaining the purchase ledger. In addition, taking on payable and accounts receivable tasks and supporting the finance department with other tasks. A successful candidate will have computer skills including Excel and Outlook, some experience working in a professional or business environment, a customer service mindset, and the ability to learn new computer applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Credit control debt collection for clients
- Cash allocation
- Processing supplier invoices through ERP'
- Accounts payable - Processing Invoices, Query resolution
- Accounts receivable - Client invoicing ensuring high levels of accuracy
- Processing monthly BACS supplier payments
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Managing & maintaining the Purchase Order System
- Investigating & resolving both customer and supplier invoice queries
- Assisting the Finance Manager with month end routines
Other Accounting Activities
- Monthly prepaid and accrual account reconciliations
- Support internal and external audit inquiries and requests
- Collaborate with other departments or divisions as needed to resolve issues and improve processes
- Intercompany activity management, including invoicing, paying, and reconciling
Education and Experience:
- Proficient in the use of Excel and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Professional demeanor
- Self-directed, independent worker and a creative problem-solver
- Experience in a similar accounting and professional corporate environment a plus
- Experience in the use of an automated accounting software system a plus
