In the role of a Health and Safety Advisor, you will be instrumental in ensuring the implementation of robust safety procedures in the public sector, with a particular focus on housing and construction.

Description

  • Implement and enforce health and safety guidelines within the construction department.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
  • Provide health and safety advice to staff and contractors.
  • Develop and deliver safety training to employees.
  • Report and investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Assist in the development of health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture within the organisation.

Profile

A successful Health and Safety Advisor should have:

  • Relevant qualifications in Health and Safety.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably within the public sector and construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • The ability to promote a positive safety culture.
  • Strong operational background.
  • Experience of working with direct staff, eg caretakers
