Join our client, a leading Borough in East London, in the Children's Services industry, as an EH&CFS Birth to 19 Support Worker. As an EH&CFS Birth to 19 Support Worker, you will:

  • Identify and prevent early intervention needs to safeguard children, young people, and parents.
  • Develop targeted intervention plans to improve social, emotional, health, and educational outcomes for families with children aged 0 to 19.
  • Build relationships with key partners in the public and private sectors, ensuring timely support is provided to those in need.

As an EH&CFS Birth to 19 Support Worker, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Early identification and prevention: Identifying and assessing family needs and providing sustained engagement to safeguard the welfare of children, young people, and parents.
  • Targeted early help interventions: Developing targeted intervention plans for families with children aged from birth to 19, aimed at improving social, emotional, health, and educational outcomes.
  • Partnership working: Building effective relationships with key partners in both the public and private sectors, including schools and early years providers, to ensure appropriate support is provided at the earliest stage.
  • Caseload management: Managing a mixed caseload of children and young people, incorporating whole family work and restorative practise approaches.
  • Lead professional role: Coordinating cases for children, young people, and their families, and acting as the single point of contact for professionals involved.
  • Building trusting relationships and supporting parents/carers: Promoting parent involvement and positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Maintaining accurate records and participating in multi-agency support processes.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, national standards, and current issues in the birth to 19 area.
  • Experience and expertise working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families, including those with risk issues and challenging behaviours.
  • The ability to work effectively with other professionals to safeguard children and young people.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to form and maintain professional relationships and boundaries.

Our client offers an hourly rate ranging from £22.19 to £26.50, with a contract length of 3 months. While driving is not required for this role, a willingness to work outside of contractual hours may be needed on occasion.
