Are you a proactive and detail-driven HR professional looking to make a difference? We are looking for a HR Officer tosupport the staff and leadership team on a temporary basis.
**About the Role:
As HR Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards across all HR functions. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and the Regional HR Business Partner.
- Ensure current HR policies and procedures are applied in line with Trust standards.
- Maintain employee records in compliance with GDPR and safeguarding requirements.
- Keep personnel systems and the MIS updated with accurate staff and contract data.
- Produce reports on sickness, service, recruitment, and entitlements.
- Manage updates to contracts, SCR, and workforce census submissions.
- Oversee recruitment: adverts, short-listing, interviews, and compliance.
- Coordinate induction, probation, and appraisal processes.
- Advise managers on HR matters including absence and performance.
- Support casework, arrange meetings, and take minutes when required.
- Maintain up-to-date job descriptions and employee handbooks.
- Liaise with Occupational Health providers and manage return-to-work processes.
- Uphold safer recruitment and contribute to trust-wide HR improvement projects.
**Essential Experience & Skills:
- Previous experience working in an HR environment, ideally within a school or education setting (desirable but not essential).
- Demonstrated ability to manage recruitment and HR processes end-to-end.
- Knowledge of HR policies including safeguarding, recruitment, file management, and absence procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
**Qualifications:
- A degree or equivalent qualification.
- CIPD Level 3 (desirable).
- DBS essential
