A global leader in one of the most progressive industries in the UK requires a talented Software Architect to define and deliver an applications architecture that supports the global scaling of the their foremost platform, hosted on AWS, and meeting standards and requirements for security, resilience and regulatory compliance

You will also be required to Identify and ensure the use of established best practices and patterns, defining standards and guidelines for delivery teams. Assessing and recommending emerging practices and technology

This position will join a dynamic and supportive environment with lots of exciting projects to get stuck into.

Your responsibilities will include...

  • Publication of an architectural strategy covering creation of a highly secure, highly available and scalable payments processing platform
  • Platform subject matter expert
  • Leading architecture and design reviews throughout the Development lifecycle
  • Supporting product management, defining and refining solutions architecture to support new product capabilities
  • Deliver Application architecture against requirements for security, scalability, performance and availability
  • The implementation of a microservice-based architecture that supports a global scale and continuous deployment of new features
  • You'll be focused on both the development and operation of software utilising Java technologies
  • Learn and apply nest practices across the entire stack.
  • Working with on-perm and cloud solutions - primarily AWS based
  • Full lifecycle development and end-to-end testing

What you'll bring to the role...

  • Strong skills in Java 11+ and experience with relevant tools and services i.e. Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful services, Tomcat, Maven etc.
  • Good level of experience with AWS services i.e. EC2, lambda, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, but other cloud experience will also be considered
  • Experience working in DevOps environments and familiarity with CI / CD processes
  • Configuration management and deployment automation experience (Chef, puppet, ansible)
