Hire Controller - £36,000 + Fantastic benefits

Are you a proactive and organized professional with a passion for customer service.

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Customer Service Advisor to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our service center, managing daily administration, and supporting our sales initiatives.

Day to Day

  • Complete all daily administration tasks within our depot.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for new and existing customers.
  • Liaise and work effectively with the company's operational and sales teams.
  • Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities to grow our sales pipeline and conversions.
  • Work efficiently within specified timelines to convert opportunities into wins.
  • Help grow the business by chasing, creating, and converting quotes, and introducing products and services to existing and lapsed customers.
  • Support sales initiatives by conducting market research, following up on sales campaigns, making appointments with new businesses, and sourcing opportunities for the sales team.
  • Utilize customer databases and external channels to further sales objectives.
  • Actively support the sales team with new leads and inquiries to improve customer satisfaction and coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Service Centre Team.
  • Collaborate closely with the Depot Manager to address issues promptly.
  • Handle enquiries from clients via phone and email, documenting customer accounts and equipment needs.
  • Provide high-level sales support by responding to enquiries efficiently and professionally.
  • Open new customer/supplier accounts and complete necessary processes.
  • Generate hire and sales quotations.
  • Process customer purchase orders and coordinate with depots/rehire partners on equipment availability.
  • Organise transport in line with customer timelines.
  • Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction with hired items and manage PO processes.
  • Handle equipment exchanges, off-hires, and report any losses or damages.
  • Manage and resolve invoice queries and process suspension requests.
  • Handle on-hire and off-hire documentation and procedures.
  • Follow quality processes and participate in audits.
  • Promote company USPs to the customer base.
  • Support reporting and administration.
  • Contribute to budget and sales strategy.
  • Identify opportunities, produce leads, and book appointments for the sales team.
  • Follow up on potential leads from marketing campaigns.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in the customer database
  • Liaise effectively with all departments to ensure customer requirements are met and maintain 100% client satisfaction.

Qualifications/ Experience/Knowledge:

  • Excellent telephone manner essential.
  • Proactive approach.
  • Previous customer service, internal, external sales experience.
  • IT literate with MS Office skills.
  • Good communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Commitment to customer service excellence and best-in-class results.
