PROJECT MANAGEMENT OFFICE (PMO) SPECIALIST
Rate: £60.55 + £8.20 holiday pay per hour (PAYE)
Location: Glasgow (hybrid working with 3 days per week in the office)
Contract length: 12 months

Our client is a leading global financial services firm, providing a wide range of investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services. They are currently seeking an enthusiastic and delivery-focused PMO to join their EMEA team based in Glasgow. This role offers the opportunity to work on large technology and process change initiatives including MiFID II, Brexit and LIBOR Transition. The successful candidate will partner with numerous technology departments to define and manage system impact and delivery plans front to back from requirements definition through technical development, front to back testing, deployment and prod beta verification.

What you'll do:

As a PMO - Technology Management Level 2, your role will be pivotal in supporting the standardisation of projects and risk management processes. You will be responsible for producing detailed technical plans and managing emerging issues to resolution. Your ability to track status and progress will ensure smooth delivery into a front to back test environment. Leading Agile ceremonies for the project team will be a key part of your role along with maintaining Agile artefacts. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to produce high-quality reports, documentation, and communication artefacts for various stakeholders.

  • Support standardisation and consistency in projects, risk management processes and procedures
  • Produce technical plans and specifications with associated assumptions, dependencies, risks & issues
  • Be a clearing house for emerging issues and requirements and manage them to resolution
  • Track status and progress and ensure smooth delivery into a front to back test environment
  • Produce reports, documentation, and communication artefacts for working groups, steering committees and project leads
  • Lead Agile ceremonies for the project team
  • Maintain Agile artefacts such as sprint boards, story maps and portfolio plans

Your strong organisational skills will enable you to effectively manage multiple demands amidst changing priorities. Your strong communication & networking skills will facilitate effective collaboration across various teams. Experience in managing the delivery of computer applications via established software development lifecycle models like Agile will be highly beneficial.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree and Professional experience, preferably at financial institution
  • Excellent track record of application product development and delivery of complex global projects in Financial services domain
  • Experience of project planning, delivery management and program management
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple demands and changing priorities
  • Strong communication & networking skills
  • Experience in managing the delivery of computer applications via established software development lifecycle models like Agile
