Freight Pricing Manager

Role Information and Benefits

Working Hours: 08:30-17:00, Monday to Friday

Breaks: 1-hour lunch break

Holiday Allowance: 33 days per annum

Pension: Auto-enroll 3% employer contribution, 5% employee contribution

Hybrid Work: While there is no onsite work, we allow for some home working after the probation period.

Position Responsibilities: As a Pricing Specialist, you will be responsible for the following:

  1. Client Onboarding:
  • Assist in the smooth transition of new clients to our services.

  • Work closely with the Sales team to maintain positive client relationships.

  1. System Proficiency:
  • Be fully conversant with all in-house systems.

  • Ensure accurate and complete entry of consignment and client information into the system.

  1. Performance Metrics:
  • Meet monthly KPIs and billing requirements promptly.
  1. Quotations and Intelligent Buying:
  • Provide competitive quotations to customers and overseas offices.

  • Demonstrate intelligent buying practices.

  1. Issue Resolution:
  • Resolve day-to-day issues with clients and vendors, including issuing NCRs.

  • Provide feedback on operational issues to the Manager for further business development.

  1. Compliance and Dangerous Goods:
  • Understand the Compliance Programme.

  • Ensure compliance with Dangerous Goods procedures for successful exports.

  1. Client Support:
  • Advise clients on importing/exporting cargoes.

  • Follow client Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  1. Customs and Supplier Relations:
  • Resolve departmental issues with Customs and third parties.

  • Compare costs between suppliers and negotiate for the best deals.

  1. Client Tenders:
  • Participate in the completion of client tenders.

Selection Criteria – Essential: To excel in this role, you should possess the following:

  • High accuracy in checking and processing information.
  • Ability to build good relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Experience in freight forwarding/logistics/supply chain.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with handling Dangerous Goods.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Export Regimes and Customs Tariff.
  • Familiarity with Lloyds Loading List, OAG Flight Guide, and Croner's Export Guide.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
