About the role
- We're looking for an experienced Environmental Health Practitioner, to lead a busy Environmental Enforcement Team.
- You must be self-motivated with excellent relationship, and operational management skills to mentor and support staff in the delivery of a range of issues including statutory nuisance, fly tipping, waste duty of care, stray dogs and abandoned vehicle investigations. You will be required to support staff to deliver a graduated approach to enforcement utilising the full range of regulatory sanctions.
- You will be expected to manage officers with a range of technical and regulatory experience ensuring a customer focussed approach. The successful candidate is encouraged to review and shape service improvements to both policy and operating processes.
- To be a success in this role you will have a degree or its equivalent in Environmental Health and a sound working knowledge of the relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Experience of conducting environmental permit inspections and processing of permit applications is also desirable.
- You will be required to work in the Municipal Offices in the Grimsby town centre and carry out visits and inspections across the borough.
- A full driving licence is essential.
