Salary up to £45K + Pension + Annual Incentive scheme

Invigorate Recruitment is working with its client to recruit an experienced Technical Sales Engineer who will work with 80% of existing accounts and generate new business,you'll combine technical knowledge with sales skills. The balance depends on the level of technical knowledge and understanding you'll need to sell the product you're offering and to respond to clients' queries.

Clients will usually be technical staff from areas such as OEM's,End Users,System Integrators & Panel Builders. The emphasis of the work varies depending on the level of technical knowledge needed to sell a particular productor service.

Day-to-day tasks for the Technical Sales Engineer are likely to involve:

  • Sales Area: Seek to grow the business in the following geographical postcodes LS;BD;HG;HD;HX;YO;HU.
  • Mon-Thurs: Customer facing with average 12 sales visits ; Friday in the office for admin day and sales meetings.
  • Searching for new clients who could benefit from their products and maximising client's potential in your designated region.
  • Follow well defined national sales strategies as laid out by our Sales Director & Manager.
  • Travelling to visit potential clients.
  • Establishing new, and maintaining existing, long-term relationships with customers.
  • Managing and interpreting customer requirements.
  • Persuading clients that a product or service will best satisfy their needs.
  • Defining client needs before providing a quotation.
  • Follow up client quotations with a view to closing the sale.
  • Negotiating tender and contract terms.
  • Over coming purchasing objections and negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions.
  • Offering after-sales support services.
  • Administering client accounts.
  • Use CRM tools to identify customer sales trends and reacting accordingly.
  • Preparing reports for head office.
  • Meeting regular sales targets.
  • Recording and maintaining client contact data.
  • Co-ordinating sales projects.
  • Supporting marketing by attending tradeshows conferences and other marketing events.
  • Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs.
  • Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education.
  • Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts;
  • Solving client problems.
  • Providing training and producing support material for other members of the sales team.

Hours

Long or irregular hours are normal, but normal office are 08:30 to17:30 Mon-Fri

Training

The business offers on-the-job training and opportunities to gain product knowledge via inhouse training platforms in addition to manufacturer training programs.
