Role Overview:

As a DT Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Design Technology workshops and classrooms. This is a full-time, long-term position, perfect for individuals looking to make a positive impact in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in preparing materials and equipment for practical lessons.
  • Maintain and organise the DT workshop, ensuring a safe and tidy environment.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure all materials are available for lessons.
  • Support students during practical activities, ensuring they follow safety procedures.
  • Set up displays of students' work and projects.
  • Assist in developing and implementing health and safety policies.

Requirements:

  • A keen interest in Design Technology and a willingness to learn.
  • Previous technician-based experience is preferred but not required.
  • A valid DBS check on the update service is essential.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students.
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workshop setting is advantageous.
