Innovation Project Manager - innovation and research projects in the energy transformation market.

Hybrid working: 2 days per week in Newbury, Berkshire

Salary: extremely competitive + benefits

Sustained growth has led to this dazzling Innovation Project Manager opening with an award winning Cleantech company based in Newbury, Berkshire.

This is less of a process-driven PM position. Instead, the Innovation Project Manager will be someone comfortable with early-stage projects where the processes and systems are yet to be nailed down - elements that have a degree of ambiguity requiring real flexibility, the ability to adjust and adapt. Accordingly, the ability to learn quickly is absolutely key.

A central part of the remit is the scoping, bidding, and delivery of energy transformation projects. You will work closely with a range of stakeholders to translate ideas into feasible products, securing funding and ensuring that creativity aligns with technical feasibility. You'll have a flair for analysing data to identify opportunities for innovation - and draw meaningful conclusions - and be capable of thinking outside the box to find novel solutions to complex problems.

As well as dealing with ambiguity and the unknown, the more formal side of the work calls for a safe pair of hands on what are invariably big, complex, government funded projects; exposure to the bidding process, government policy etc will be highly advantageous.

Projects are exceptionally varied (no two days are the same) and are often of enormous complexity, often with a large number of stakeholders. The challenge is to find world-leading solutions for low carbon technologies, innovation and research - the right project fit for the product roadmap - working with academic institutions, partners and government bodies. There will be site visits at other locations as required.

A flavour of the role:

  • Work in the consultancy business to support the scoping, bidding and delivery of energy transformation projects
  • Co-ordinate internal and third-party resources to deliver projects as required
  • Bring commercial awareness and energy industry understanding to the delivery of projects
  • Provide support to bid managers for new projects
  • Manage project performance and changes to the project scope, schedule and costs
  • Maintain a good understanding the energy market structure and regulations
  • Collaborate with sales and product teams to ensure smooth transition of products and services into standard commercial offerings.

If you have the skills and experience to make a measurable difference in such a role and you're comfortable getting into the west Berkshire office 2 days each week we'd love to hear from you!

Innovation Project Manager, Energy Transformation, Decarbonisation, Innovation and Research. Highly competitive salary, award winning company culture.
