Position: English Teacher Location: South Birmingham (Alternative Provision) Full-time position
As an English Teacher within an alternative provision, your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging English lessons, tailored to meet the needs of students with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Teaching a range of topics, including grammar, reading, writing, and literary analysis.
- Utilising creative teaching methods to promote active participation and foster a love for learning.
- Supporting students in developing their literacy skills and enhancing their confidence in English
- Providing personalised feedback and guidance to facilitate students' progress and achievement.
- Collaborating with colleagues and external professionals to create individualised learning plans.
- Creating a positive and supportive classroom environment, ensuring students feel valued and respected.
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Qualified Teacher Status QTS or QTLS.
- Experience teaching English at the secondary school level, preferably within an alternative provision or similar setting.
- A strong understanding of the English curriculum and the ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual student needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students effectively.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students who may face additional challenges.
- The ability to establish positive relationships with students, gaining their trust and promoting their well-being.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and evolving educational environment.
