Position: English Teacher Location: South Birmingham (Alternative Provision) Full-time position

As an English Teacher within an alternative provision, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging English lessons, tailored to meet the needs of students with diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Teaching a range of topics, including grammar, reading, writing, and literary analysis.
  • Utilising creative teaching methods to promote active participation and foster a love for learning.
  • Supporting students in developing their literacy skills and enhancing their confidence in English
  • Providing personalised feedback and guidance to facilitate students' progress and achievement.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and external professionals to create individualised learning plans.
  • Creating a positive and supportive classroom environment, ensuring students feel valued and respected.

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Qualified Teacher Status QTS or QTLS.
  • Experience teaching English at the secondary school level, preferably within an alternative provision or similar setting.
  • A strong understanding of the English curriculum and the ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual student needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students effectively.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students who may face additional challenges.
  • The ability to establish positive relationships with students, gaining their trust and promoting their well-being.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and evolving educational environment.
