We are seeking an English GCSE and Functional Skills (FS) Teacher to join our client's Further Education (FE) college in Oxfordshire. This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, making it ideal for flexible scheduling. The position involves delivering high-quality teaching in English to help students achieve their GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences for GCSE and Functional Skills English.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
- Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
- Provide appropriate feedback on work and offer constructive guidance to students to enhance their learning.
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the college's procedures and encourage good practice concerning punctuality, behaviour, standards of work, and homework.
- Update all necessary records accurately as required by college policies.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent meetings, and whole school training events.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification in English.
- Experience teaching English GCSE and Functional Skills.
- Strong understanding of the current curriculum and educational practices.
- Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to professional development and maintaining high teaching standards.
