We are seeking an English GCSE and Functional Skills (FS) Teacher to join our client's Further Education (FE) college in Oxfordshire. This role offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, making it ideal for flexible scheduling. The position involves delivering high-quality teaching in English to help students achieve their GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences for GCSE and Functional Skills English.
  • Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Provide appropriate feedback on work and offer constructive guidance to students to enhance their learning.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the college's procedures and encourage good practice concerning punctuality, behaviour, standards of work, and homework.
  • Update all necessary records accurately as required by college policies.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parent meetings, and whole school training events.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification in English.
  • Experience teaching English GCSE and Functional Skills.
  • Strong understanding of the current curriculum and educational practices.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to professional development and maintaining high teaching standards.
