Position Title: Transport Coordinator (Temp to Perm)

Location: Crawley

Hours: 07:00 - 17:00

Pay: £13:45ph

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate transportation schedules to ensure timely delivery and pickup of goods.
  • Assign drivers to routes and manage daily dispatches.
  • Monitor transportation costs and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Maintain records of vehicle maintenance and ensure all vehicles are in good working condition.
  • Coordinate regular vehicle inspections and repairs.
  • Ensure all transportation activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Promote and enforce safety standards and practices among drivers and staff.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, customers, and vendors.
  • Address and resolve any transportation-related issues or complaints promptly.
  • Provide regular updates to customers on delivery statuses.
  • Demonstrate excellent phone communication skills to ensure clear and effective interactions.
  • Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including deliveries, pickups, and fuel usage.
  • Generate and analyze reports to track performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation coordination or a similar role.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Attention to detail is crucial for maintaining accurate records and schedules.
  • Must be good on the phone, with strong verbal communication skills.
