Estates & Compliance Manager

Are you an experienced Estates & Compliance Manager looking for a new opportunity? Our client, a prestigious organisation in the education sector, is seeking a skilled professional to join their team and oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of their school premises and facilities. As the Estates & Compliance Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and optimal environment for staff and pupils.

Start September, this is a permanent position, salary £30 - £45k, hours 9-5pm Monday - Friday, this position is fully on site and the location is Kennington area. Due to the nature of the organisation you are required to go through an enhanced DBS before starting.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the maintenance, operation, and security of the organisation's school buildings and infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain adequate inventories and records for servicing, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Oversee contracted teams, including cleaning, maintenance, security, parking, catering, and technology.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate installations, refurbishments, and procurement of supplies and contractors.
  • Resolve day-to-day problems related to premises and facilities.
  • Monitor budget adherence and report significant issues to senior management.
  • Provide financial analyses and negotiate pricing decisions and contract quotes.
  • Respond to emergencies related to school premises.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • 3-5 years' experience in facilities/property management (desirable).
  • Qualifications in Construction or Facilities Management (desirable).
  • Experience in the independent special school sector (desirable).
