Are you ready to take your procurement skills to the next level? Syntech Recruitment is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join a leading manufacturer and distributor of specialist equipment.
As a Procurement Specialist, you will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure a seamless supply of goods, materials, and services to meet customer demands. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to take a lead role in strategic planning and procurement activities, all within a supportive and growth-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management: Identify and collaborate with high-quality, competitive suppliers to enhance business performance.
  • Cost Reduction: Focus on cost-saving strategies while maintaining quality and supply efficiency.
  • Daily Procurement: Manage the daily ordering of materials and arrange timely deliveries in line with supply chain demands.
  • Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to best practices and company ethics.
  • Crisis Management: Work with production teams to address critical supply shortages and escalate risks and non-conformities in real-time.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse data to identify trends and areas for performance improvement, providing insights for the annual planning and budgeting process.
  • Operational Efficiency: Develop strategies to improve operational efficiencies, add value, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Educational Background: Educated to at least A-level; CIPS certification advantageous.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in related industries is highly desirable.
  • Forecast Management: Proficient in managing and monitoring forecasts.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to quickly learn and adapt to our MRP system; fully conversant with MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Continuous Improvement: Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all organisational levels.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, organised, and numerically astute.
  • Adaptability: Ability to function well in a high-paced, demanding environment.
