The Senior Communications Officer will serve as a key figure in developing and implementing communication strategies and delivering these effective communications strategies within the public sector. A vital role based in Liverpool, the successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating and leading various communication campaigns.

Description

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies.
  • Coordinate internal and external communications flow (memos, newsletters etc.).
  • Collaborate with marketing professionals to produce copy for advertisements and articles.
  • Managing media relations, public affairs, and stakeholder engagement across the Liverpool City Region.
  • Handle crisis and incident communications.
  • Lead communication and marketing campaigns from inception to execution.
  • Organise initiatives to maintain high levels of employee engagement.
  • Analyse and report on communication campaign outcomes.

Profile

A successful Senior Communications Officer should have:

  • A degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field.
  • Proven experience in communications, media relations, or a related field, preferably in a governmental or similar public sector environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with design software (Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Understanding of project management and web design.
  • Knowledge of communication principles and practices.
