Job Title: Head of Sales
We are seeking an technically minded Sales professional/Leader to join a growing Engineering consultancy delivering tailored solutions to clients across Energy Efficiency and Carbon reduction initiatives.

We are a leading provider of energy efficient and carbon reduction solutions within the Built Environment sector. We specialise in helping clients achieve their sustainability goals through innovative and cost-effective solutions. Our expertise spans the built environment and we are a team of experienced and developing Engineers / chartered engineers by trade covering: consultancy/advisory, project management and delivery of energy assessments and installation of Solar PV & storage, Ground and Air source heat pumps, insulation, lighting, and windows. We pride ourselves on building long-term, trusted relationships with our clients, supporting them throughout the journey to energy efficiency.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager / Head of Sales (depending on experience) to support us with a huge increase in opportunities across the Built Environment sector, focusing on estates of properties in the Education sector as well as other commercial property sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales within the engineering or small works construction consulting space, with a proven track record in supporting and consulting with clients around the best energy efficiency and decarbonisation solutions for them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives and targets.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the Education sector and other commercial property sectors.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
- Provide advice and consultancy around the relevant solutions available to each client. This is a key part of our business and we build ethical and trusted relationships with our clients.
- Collaborate with technical teams to develop tailored solutions that meet client needs in a cost-effective manner.
- Longer term we are keen to add more hires into the sales team and this role would then involve leadership duties also.
- Monitor market trends, industry knowledge and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and challenges.
- Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and other performance metrics to senior management.
- Support BD Director with bid/tender requirements and strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in sales within the engineering, built environment, or small works construction consulting sectors.
- Strong understanding of energy efficiency and decarbonisation solutions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with clients.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
Salary ranges and typical experience required:
Head of Sales
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 depending on experience
- Minimum of 10 years+ of work experience in sales/business development/pre-sales or consultancy with at least 5 years within the engineering or built environment sectors
- Extensive knowledge of energy efficiency & decarbonisation solutions and market trends.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic sales plans.
- Experience leading and managing a sales team.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to drive team performance and achieve sales targets.
- Data driven with the ability to understand technical reports and articulate the value and options to clients.
