Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Class 2 driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods, ensuring that all deliveries are made on time and in accordance with company policies. This role requires a commitment to high standards of safety and customer service, as well as the ability to operate a flatbed lorry effectively.
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 2 vehicles in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle checks to ensure safety and roadworthiness.
- Deliver goods to various locations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Load and unload cargo, securing it properly on the flatbed to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and complete necessary paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations while on the road and at delivery sites.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, specifically with HGV Class 2 vehicles.
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving licence.
- Experience operating flatbed lorries is advantageous.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times.
