Group Marketing Manager

Overview:

Our client is seeking a dynamic and innovative Group Marketing Manager to lead their team and manage a portfolio of top trade exhibitions and publications. You will inspire and mentor the team to achieve outstanding results, building strong relationships with stakeholders. Your responsibilities include creating and implementing marketing strategies to boost attendance, engagement, and success of our events, as well as driving the growth of our publications.

Job specification:

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies, positioning, and key messages for a portfolio of events and publications, working collaboratively with commercial and conference teams.
  • Seamlessly blend hands-on execution with team management to optimise group performance.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team by setting objectives, managing performance, and providing support and guidance.
  • Create strategic audience development plans in collaboration with the data team, aligned with the shows' growth plans.
  • Develop and manage portfolio budgets, providing regular reports.
  • Negotiate and manage key relationships and partnerships with industry and sector media to enhance brand awareness across key sectors.
  • Oversee the execution of marketing, promotions, and communications campaigns, and report on their effectiveness and results.
  • Manage the creative/design process for marketing materials.
  • Regularly review marketing plans, analyse response rates and KPIs, and optimise as needed to maximize success.

Person specification:

  • Proven track record with 10+ years of marketing experience.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Willingness to share best practices and contribute to the team's overall success.
  • Strategic thinker capable of analysing market trends and identifying new marketing opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Customer-focused approach to understanding and meeting customer needs, fostering long-term relationships.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and persevere in the face of setbacks and pressure.
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office, social media scheduling tools, website CMS systems, Email Service Providers/CRMs.
