We are a secondary school in the Great Yarmouth area, committed to excellence in education and providing a nurturing environment for our students. We are currently looking for a dedicated and proactive School Caretaker to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining our school premises, ensuring they are safe, secure, and well-kept.
Day to Day of the role:
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure the school is well-maintained.
- Supervise the cleaning staff to maintain high cleanliness standards throughout the school.
- Efficiently set up and dismantle equipment for various school events and activities.
- Manage the security of the school buildings and grounds, ensuring a safe environment for all.
- Liaise with external contractors for specialized maintenance work when necessary.
- Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and place orders as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the school.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in caretaking or a similar role.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations to ensure compliance and safety at all times.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks and maintenance work.
- Good organizational and communication skills to effectively manage tasks and interact with staff and contractors.
- A problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
