Solicitor ( Contracts and procurement)
Fully remote
£26 per hour (umbrella)
Full Time Contract (12 months)
Novax Recruitment is actively seeking a Contracts Solicitor on a fully remote basis. This is a contract with a scope for extension working full time hours.
The job:
- Advising the organisation on a broad range of commercial contracts and procurement matters, working closely with the Council's procurement team in relation to the preparation of tender documents, and consideration of queries that may arise as part of a procurement evaluation.
- The drafting and completion of bespoke and standard forms of contract, including NEC and JCT contracts.
- Negotiation and preparation of documentation and advice on major transactions, including the regional partnerships.
- Provision of sound legal advice to all Directorates of the organisation, including but not limited to advice on powers to carry out proposed activities
- To attend meetings of and provide advice to Council's Cabinet and Committees when required
The candidate:
- A qualified Solicitor or Barrister with relevant post qualification experience
- Experience in advising on compliance with local government legislation and procedures is desirable
- Capable of working on his/her own initiative and strategically as part of a team.
