Job Title: 1st Line Service Desk Engineer

Wage: £24,000 to £26,000 dependant on experience

Location: IDT Support Solutions, currently Newton Le Willows, but imminent move to Birchwood.

You MUST live within a commutable distance to Olympic Park, Birchwood, Warrington

Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in a Managed Services environment

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated 1st Line Service Desk Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft technologies to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a Managed Services environment and possess excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line technical support to end-users via phone, email, and remote tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft products (Windows OS, Office 365, etc.).
  • Log and manage support tickets using our ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and excellent customer service.
  • Assist with user account management, including password resets and access permissions.
  • Perform routine system maintenance and updates.
  • Escalate complex issues to second-line support or relevant teams as necessary.
  • Document all support activities and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide guidance and training to end-users on best practices and IT policies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a 1st Line Service Desk or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows OS, Office 365, Intune and Microsoft Entra.
  • Confident telephone manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of additional technologies such as WatchGuard/Cisco/Unifi desirable.
  • Have use of own transport
  • Live within a commutable distance to Olympic Park, Birchwood, Warrington
