Are you passionate about supporting children and have experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN). My Primary School are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our nurturing primary school in Sidcup. This role is perfect for someone who has a commitment to making a positive impact on young lives and the experience to support children with a range of learning needs.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with classroom teachers and the SEN team to support pupils with additional needs. Your primary focus will be to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, enabling all children to succeed in a safe and structured setting. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing targeted support to pupils with SEN, both in small groups and one-on-one.
  • Assisting in developing and adapting resources to meet individual learning needs.
  • Encouraging pupil engagement and promoting positive social interactions.
  • Collaborating with teachers and specialists to monitor and report on pupil progress.

About You

  • Experience: Previous experience working with SEN children in a primary school setting is essential.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
  • Qualities: Empathy, patience, and resilience are vital, as well as a passion for supporting children to overcome challenges.
  • Qualifications: Relevant TA qualifications and safeguarding training are advantageous, but we are open to passionate candidates willing to undertake further training.
