This specialized institution offers personalized education for a maximum of 12 pupils with profound needs, encompassing learning disabilities, associated health issues, and challenging behaviours. Students, from diverse backgrounds, all possess Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH), often accompanied by other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) such as Autism, ADHD, and communication challenges. Operating as a trauma and attachment-informed organization, all staff receive extensive therapeutic training and support.
The school's integrated approach places the child at the centre of decision-making, ensuring collaboration among education and therapy professionals, parents/carers, local authority teams, and, crucially, students, to achieve outstanding outcomes for all.

The Role:
Teaching Assistants at our school understand the dynamic nature of their work and the diverse needs of each child. They serve as vital figures capable of supporting students with complex and challenging behaviours. TAs are expected to provide the right sort of communication, consistency, and flexibility, with resilience, persistence, and solution-focused approaches.
Responsibilities include supporting teaching and learning, working with children individually or in small groups, managing classroom resources, facilitating educational outings, providing lunchtime support for socially challenged students, ensuring safety during heightened behavioural episodes, developing social skills through games and activities, creating engaging displays to enhance the learning environment, and participating in therapeutic training sessions.
TAs are valued members of our team, encouraged to contribute to decision-making processes and advocate for every child's needs. They are welcomed to develop both academic curriculum and extracurricular opportunities, bringing their interests and passions to the table.
