About our client

Our client is a university student, who is studying Social Work at Salford University. She has Cerebral Palsy. She is looking for someone understanding and patient, who can aid her in being as independent as possible. She loves music, fashion, hair and makeup, shopping, going for walks, going to pubs/clubs, concerts, the theatre, and to dinner with friends.

As written by the client..

"I would describe myself as a kind, friendly, fun-loving, adventurous, and strong-willed person. I love all things music (especially Rihanna and Beyonce), advocacy, social justice, rainbows, and butterflies. I'm always up for a good laugh, once I start, it is hard for me to stop! I enjoy doing bit of everything - fashion, doing my hair and makeup, socialising, shopping, eating out, going on walks outdoors, going to concerts and the theatre, swimming and watching rugby. I am in my 2nd year of studying Social Work at Salford University. I am looking for a PA to help me with all daily living tasks including personal care, academic support and living university life to the fullest!

I have Diplegia which is a type of Cerebral Palsy. It predominantly affects my lower limbs, but it also affects my upper limbs to an extent. It causes my muscles to be stiff and spasm, so I need someone who is understanding and patient as it can take me longer to do things. I have also been recently diagnosed with a chronic UTI; this is where the infection is embedded into my bladder lining - I manage it by taking medication. I want to be as independent as possible, so I have decided to choose Salford University because it is a few hours away from my home in Leeds and will live in student halls while at university where you will have a separate room. It is important to me that my care and support needs do not rule my time at university.

It is important to me that you are willing to help me socialise and accompany me to places such as pubs/clubs, concerts, cinemas, to the theatre and dinner with friends etc.

It is important to me that you respect my privacy because sometimes I will want to be alone or with friends.

It is important to me that you become aware of what triggers my spasms, so you can help me when they happen."
