Job Title: Stores/Warehouse Person (Inventory Management)

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm

Reports To: Warehouse Manager/Inventory Supervisor

Job Summary: We are seeking a diligent and organized Stores/Warehouse Person to effectively manage our client's inventory processes. The ideal candidate will ensure the accurate recording, storage, and dispatching of goods, maintaining optimal inventory levels to support the smooth operation of our warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Receive, check, and record incoming stock.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Update inventory management systems with accurate data.
  • Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies or shortages.

Storage and Organization:

  • Store goods in designated areas, ensuring efficient space utilization.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
  • Implement and adhere to proper storage practices to prevent damage or spoilage.

Order Fulfillment:

  • Pick, pack, and dispatch orders accurately and timely.
  • Prepare shipping documents and ensure correct labeling.
  • Coordinate with the shipping department for timely dispatch and delivery.

Health and Safety:

  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely.
  • Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues promptly.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions.
  • Generate inventory reports as required by management.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of inventory policies and procedures.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with the procurement and sales departments to ensure stock availability.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Provide support during stocktakes and audits.

Skills:

  • Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy items up to 25KG.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in various warehouse conditions (e.g., temperature variations).
