Payroll Manager

With 70+ years in their space, this organisation is bringing their payroll in-house, so they are looking for Payroll Manager on a part-time basis (30 hours a week) to develop this function. The successful Payroll Manager can pick when these 30 hours are completed (so very flexible), with an expectation of being in the office once a week, so offers great flexibility. This role also offers 25 days (+ 8 bank holidays), hybrid working and a great opportunity to create / implement a smooth payroll function, adding great value to the organisation.

Reporting to the Finance Controller, you will be responsible for:

  • Manage in-house payroll function from end – to – end
  • Assist with bringing the payroll function in-house and setting up the payroll software
  • Process monthly payroll for approximately 200 staff
  • Calculate and process employee payments, ensuring tax codes, overtime hours etc. are accurately updated into Sage 50 each month
  • Complete HMRC returns, reconcile PAYE accounts and make payments to HMRC
  • Complete end of year payroll reporting (P60s, P11ds, PAYE)

What you will need:

  • Experience in a similar role, such as Payroll Manager / Senior Payroll Clerk / Payroller
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 (handy but not essential)
  • Deadline driven
  • Up to date HMRC payroll legislation
