Goods Inwards Inspector

Role Purpose

Working within the Goods Inwards team, the Product Expediter & Inspector role is required to assist in raising the quality of our Product to the next level and aid in increasing efficiencies within the Goods Inwards area. This post offers an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate with the relevant skills and experience to enhance and develop their career further within an internationally strong manufacturing company.

Duties Include

:

  • Inspecting goods delivered using drawings, purchase order descriptions, specifications and supplementary documentation.
  • Rejecting non-conforming goods within the ERP system and ensuring that they are isolated from general use and suitably labelled.
  • Carrying out checks to ensure the quantity, description and quality match the delivery note and purchase order.
  • Transfer of stock between locations, both physically and on the ERP system.
  • Following the Supplier Quality Concern process, informing Procurement and preparing goods for collection as required.
  • Off-loading delivered goods with the use of a Forklift Truck and/or other manual handling equipment as necessary.
  • Booking in deliveries from suppliers into the ERP system in real time, checking that the information matches the purchase order.
  • Support Perpetual Inventory counts, using appropriate resources, and process returned information in conjunction with other teams.
  • Supporting control of consignment stocks/Vendor Managed inventory
  • Support the Goods Inwards and Inspection Controller to ensure good stock rotation.
  • Working to the Purchasing, Goods Inward and other Company Procedures.
  • Following up progress and producing reports on order status.
  • Prioritising workload to ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Ensuring the correct PPE is worn by yourself and all colleagues carrying out these duties.
  • Ensuring any health and safety concerns are reported to the Procurement Manager and/or Goods Inwards Controller immediately.
  • Keeping the Goods In Office tidy and safe at all times.
  • To carry out any other duties that may reasonably be requested giving due regard to your existing status.

Candidate Attributes

:

  • 1-year equivalent work experience in a Goods Inwards or Inspection role, ideally in a Manufacturing or Warehouse environment.
  • Valid Forklift licence or willing to be trained
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read Engineering drawings and use simple measuring equipment.
  • Good administrative skills and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Ability to work using your initiative to a high standard with excellent attention to detail whilst meeting deadlines.
  • Open style and a team player.
  • Using Best Practice techniques.
