Travel Specialist
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Travel Specialist to join this unique tour operator in this home based role. As a Travel Specialist you will be supporting travel agents & direct customers with booking holidays predominantly to Latin America. You will ideally have some knowledge of the region, but full training will be given to an experienced travel consultant with a background in retail travel or tour operations.
Travel Specialist - Role & Responsibilities:
- Dealing with incoming enquiries from travel agents and direct clients, taking full responsibility from initial contact, through to pre-departure and post sales stages, with support from operations team where appropriate.
- Build travel itineraries around flights, accommodation tours and ground arrangements.
- Preparing appealing and accurate quotations.
- Provide excellent service whilst building relationships with agents & customers.
- Supporting operations team with ad hoc administrative duties.
- Attendance at travel events on an ad hoc basis.
Travel Specialist - Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience of working as Travel Consultant for a travel agent or tour operator.
- Proven travel sales success
- Strong worldwide destination knowledge, with some knowledge of Latin America being beneficial but not essential.
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships with agents.
- Friendly, personable nature with genuine desire to help.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent standard of spoken and written English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Travel Specialist - Key Benefits:
- Salary is £26-30k plus incentives following a successful 6-month probation.
- Hours of work are Monday to Friday 9 to 5.30.
- This is a home based role, but you must be able to attend team meetings in Gloucestershire approx 8 times per year.
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
- 1 x fam trip per year following probation period
